The load looks different at every age.
Executive-function load doesn't show up the same way in a kindergarten classroom as it does in a fifth-grade one. A K–1 student is still learning to hold a routine; a fourth grader is managing multi-step projects and their own materials. The design that lowers the load has to match where students actually are.
Each grade band gets its own working session, tailored to that age, and each ends with a recommendation to leadership. The Administration Capstone then turns all three bands' recommendations into one coherent, building-wide executive-function design policy your board can adopt.
K–1 · Lower Elementary
"Let the Room Remember." At K–1, the environment carries the executive-function load students can't hold yet. Design visible routines, predictable signals, and a room that remembers so working memory isn't the barrier to learning.
2–3 · Middle Elementary
