The levers are universal. The moves are not.
The core library gives your whole staff one shared logic — participation is the evidence that attention, motivation, and belonging are working. But that logic shows up differently in every room: discussion is the discipline in English, sense-making is the work in science, real choice drives a CTE shop.
Each department session localizes the three levers into that discipline's own work, so teachers leave with moves that fit their subject — not a generic bag of tricks. The cross-department teams (Special Education, Student Support Services, Related Services) work from their building-wide vantage point and turn what they see into recommendations to administration. The Administration Capstone then gathers it all into policy. Each session is included in All Departments and Everything.
English Language Arts — Voice or Silence?
In English, engagement has a sound: students talking, reading, and arguing about a text. But discussion is thinning and reading for pleasure is collapsing. This session takes an honest look at who's actually in the conversation — who talks, who reads, who performs — and turns it into department commitments for real voice and real reading.
Mathematics
Moving students from waiting for the steps to thinking out loud. The issue isn't answer-getting — it's whether students are making sense of mathematics, and whether that thinking is visible. This session helps the math team build productive struggle and mathematical discourse into everyday tasks.
