Learning outcomes

By the end of this workshop, staff will be able to:

  • Name the Four Adult Systems. Leadership, Professional Collaboration, Family Partnership, and External Partnerships — one shared vocabulary the whole building holds.
  • Diagnose Connection Debt. Recognize when adults are working hard individually but not moving in the same direction.
  • Connect research to practice. See how relational trust and teacher social-capital research show up in everyday building decisions.
  • Audit their building. Use the Connection Debt Audit tool against each of the Four Adult Systems.
  • Draft a real 30/60/90-day plan. Leave with one system prioritized, one visible behavior changed, one lasting structure installed.
  • Build one shared message. Walk away with a line every adult in the building can repeat, regardless of department or role.

Department add-ons

The Same Four Systems, Located in Every Department

The Core Package gives every classroom the same schoolwide system — the Four Adult Systems and the shared language that comes with them. But departments don't all touch that system the same way. Each of the 12 departments needs to locate where the system runs through their own hallway.

These twelve working sessions do exactly that, then hand leadership the tools to turn all twelve departments' input into one policy through the Administration Capstone.

English

Grade-level and course-team isolation shows up fast: 9th and 10th grade English never compare notes on what "ready" looks like, and grading standards get signed off differently depending on who's asked. This session gets the English team explicit about what consistency actually means.

Math

Course-team isolation means Algebra 1 sections never compare pacing or notation, and nobody agrees what "ready for Geometry" looks like. This session aligns the math team on a shared standard for what mastery means.

Science

Biology, Chemistry, and Physics never align on inquiry-based practices, and nobody agrees what "ready for the next course" looks like — plus lab safety standards get signed off differently depending on who's asked. This session builds the shared expectations that keep every lab consistent.

Social Sciences

World History, US History, and Government never align on the inquiry arc, and primary-source standards get signed off differently depending on who's asked. This session names where the department's evidence expectations actually need to match.

World Languages

Level 1, 2, and 3 teachers never calibrate on what "Intermediate Low" actually looks like, and proficiency ratings drift teacher to teacher. This session builds the shared calibration the whole language sequence depends on.

Fine Arts

Band, choir, visual art, and theater never compare notes on the shared Artistic Processes, and performance or exhibition standards get signed off differently depending on who's asked. This session builds one shared standard across every discipline in the department.

CTE

Course-team isolation across pathways means nobody compares notes on what a shared competency should look like, and competency standards get signed off inconsistently. This session gets every pathway working from the same bar.

PE/Health

Course-team isolation across PE and Health sections means nobody compares notes on a shared skill benchmark, and grading or participation standards drift teacher to teacher. This session builds the consistency students feel moving between sections.

Multilingual Learners

EL specialists and content-area teachers work in isolation, and nobody agrees what scaffolding should actually look like in practice. This session aligns specialists and classroom teachers on one shared approach.

Special Education

Case managers and general-education co-teachers work in isolation, and accommodation implementation gets handled differently depending on who's asked. This session builds the shared practice that makes accommodations consistent everywhere a student goes.

Student Support

Counselors, social workers, and psychologists working the same caseload rarely compare notes, and referral or tier-placement decisions get made inconsistently. This session gets the support team working from one shared picture of each student.

Related Services

OT, PT, SLP, and psychology providers treating the same student rarely compare notes, and documentation or goal-writing standards drift provider to provider. This session builds the shared plan that keeps every provider aligned.

Administration Capstone

Turns every department's input into a six-component Adult Systems policy — Shared Mission, Leadership Systems, Professional Collaboration, Family Partnership, External Partnerships, Continuous Improvement — real policy, ready for the district and board.

Each department session includes a working-session deck plus four companions:

Quick answers

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before bringing this into your building.

Is this specific to our state's policies?

No. The Four Adult Systems framework is universal; state- and district-specific fields are left as editable brackets throughout.

Can I edit the decks with our school's name and branding?

Yes. Every deck ships with a customizable title slide, and Handouts are fully white-label.

What's the difference between the Extended, Mid, and Mini formats?

Extended is a full 2-hour workshop. Mid is a 3-session implementation series. Mini is six standalone 15-30 minute sessions — pick the one that fits the time you have, or run all three across the year.

What are the "Department Add-Ons," and how are they different from the Core Package?

The Core Package introduces the Four Adult Systems to the whole staff. Department Add-Ons translate that same framework into each department's own working reality — 12 departments, one session each.

Do we need to buy the Core Package before Department Add-Ons, or can we buy Everything directly?

Any product can be bought on its own. Everything includes both at a $9 savings over buying separately.

What's included with a purchase?

The working-session deck (PowerPoint + PDF), all companion documents, a Google Slides/Docs copy-link for every file, and a single-building license.

What's your license and refund policy?

Single-building license, present unlimited times within one building. All sales are final (digital download).
